Shanghai Yu-Life Toastmasters Club Meetings #439

meeting #439 @[2023-04-09 Sun]

This is a meeting which we have many multirolers: @Peter as SAA and TMD; @Joker as President, TTE and Timer; @老獬 as GE, TTM and IE.

The traditional "I am a Toastmaster" game from SAA@Peter always makes people feel relaxed. We are ready for a great meeting.

Our Presidents @Joker can easily connect the audience using his personal experience along with Toastmasters' history and Yu-Life club's slogan.

TMD@Peter is by far the greatest host in Toastmaster Shanghai in my opinon. He has done perfectly by connecting each and every one in and out of the stage. If he can put his eyes more often on me, I will feel better.

TTM and the topic of science is not easy. Even though I have prepare questions related to common ground of science, audience still fear to come volunteerily. While they are on the stage, they impromptu speeches are often qualified for a good topic answer.

The prepared speech from @Lanlan is a long time waiting speech after her level 2. As her IE, I see that she has mature skills in organize a beutiful speech connecting several stories to her main point - focus on positive. She begins to use a lot of vocal variety to make her message strong and to get the audience to her speech. For example, she vividly asks 3 questions in the beginning of the speech, which makes the opening very interesting to the audience. She should keep this and further she should use this even more often because there are many cases she can the same. For example, when she says about the high salary job offer, the preparing of examination, the five points to improve, and even the final recall and answer of the 3 questions. If she can add this, the speech will be more strong. In the long run, I would like to see that she uses the stage efficiently because now she just stands in the middle of stage and talk. There is space to move, to gain different angles to the audience. This is important message that let the audience pay attention to you. So please move more and move meaningfully on the stage. All in all, Lanlan's prepared speech meet the project objective contentwise, and her vocal performance is good. She should keep this and pay more attention to movement and body language.
