Shanghai Yu-Life Toastmasters Club Meetings #457
meeting #457 @
The weather is cloudy, no sunray and good for bicycling. We are almost full in our club.
Maggie Chen, act as our SAA the first time. She brings a fascinating game for the teachers event. The game is teacher-says. People enjoy it very much. Maggie also clearly introduced the rules and mission of Toastmasters. Meeting is ready to go.
Our acting President@Joker Xu interactively introduces the history of TI and Yu-Life using years and numbers. Finally, he announces the opening of our 457th meeting.
Carol is the TMD after so many meetings. She still can handle the opening very fluently. She introduces the meeting agenda with personal thoughts. Great meeting starts.
TTM @Lanlan Geng is the TTM. She uses her soft style to ask each speaker select a question from her prepared paper slip. The questions are easy but deep ones. Each speaker has something to say, and some of their stories really touch the feeling of our school years. 7 speakers have done the impromptu speeches.
TTE@老獬 uses PREP methods to evaluated each and every one of this session, including TTM. Many people clearly demonstrate their talents and skills in telling a fantastic story, and all they need to improve in the future is to speak out their message loudly.
We have two Prepared speakers: Maggie Chen - L1P2, Yolanda - L1P3. The performance are excellent. Maggie uses vocal variety and body language to express her feeling very well. Yolanda interacts with the audience smoothly and meaningfully. Their evaluators @老獬 and @Peter give different angles for the speakers to think. Peter points out a new way to present Yolanda's speech by using chairs. 老獬 tells Maggie to think harder in present the key message even more clearly through the speech.
Our GE@Peter leads the diligent evaluation team:
Timer@Evans: diligent working through the meeting, accurate report. I like her tips about observing the yellow card, which is what I use.
Ah-Counter@Joker: good classification, and many tips, many too much for one meeting.
Grammarian@Sophia: very good word of today, people should learn something unusual in this session. It should be better to collect more good usage with names.
Our VPPR@Carol once again sponsors a very cute toy - dinosaur as the best Table Topics speaker trophy. The winner is @Maggie Chen - her vivid story in teaching her kid shows how important patience is in teaching.
Looking forward to our next meeting. Stay tuned.
