Shanghai Yu-Life Toastmasters Club Meetings #462

meeting #462 @[2023-10-22 Sun]

It's a sunny Sunday morning. I met Mr. Adam Li at the close door of Shangshufang - our meeting venue. It's always exciting to know new people. Mr. Li is even older than me, and he has the passion to come early to our club meeting. How do you like it?

SAA@Joker has no time to perform his to-be-great game because we already started late for our full-agenda meeting.

Our president@Henry introduced Toastmasters using questions instead of the normal comment. This brings some good memory.

Our first time TMD@Grace is a well-dressed hostee for the meeting. Her voice and words attract the audience like a splash.

Henry leads Table Topics session with a wall of pictures. People should tell describe the picture in 2 minutes and convey a message to the audience.

Joker's TT evaluation becomes more mature. This time he tries to using PREP structure to evaluate each speech. It's a great tool, and it takes time to cover all the excellent points and the improvement in 8 minutes. We could find a balance in the future.

Now, here comes the sharing from our N division director @Hazel. Her topic is about migrating skills from Toastmasters to the Office. She really illustrates the content very well using interaction, vocal variety and personal stories. People hold on the breathe to listen because career is a big deal for each of us. Come to Toastmasters meeting and boost your career satisfaction.

3 wonderful prepared speeches from 3 ladies in our club: Lisa, Selina and Carol. Each one of them has great talent in show-off their own characteristic in their speeches. Lisa is very logic in delivery a persuasive speech. Selina is very emotional in speaking out her own touching story with Yu-Life club. Carol is versatile and easy-going in talking something serious in life. I, as one of the audience, feel that it is worth a Sunday morning even if I just hear these 3 speeches.

Our talented Maggie takes the GE role once again. This time she perfectly masters the essence of a General Evaluator. Her humorous and encouraging comments give all the role-takers a lot of appreciation and tips in moving forward in the next meeting.

Timer@Alex: very brave in pushing the button of bell.

Ah-Couter@Lanlan: acurate capture of Ah words and meaningful tips for all.

Grammarian@Jason: a complete report from a teenage, role model.

Good time always passes fast. Two-hour meeting ends in a friendly way.

Looking forward to our next meeting. Stay tuned.
