Shanghai Yu-Life Toastmasters Club Meetings #464
meeting #464 @
It's a rather hot Sunday morning in Autumn. I am little bit late to our bookstore. I have seen many people in the meeting venue.
Our SAA@Grace prepares an excellent game called "make a tree or something". Two groups of people have made 2 kinds of tree with rarely known patterns. People are thinking about the other people's ideas, and they begin to know each other. This is a great game for warm-up.
Our acting president@Joker humorously tells the audience about Toastmasters and Yu-Life club.
I am the TMD. Because our meeting starts late than scheduled, I plan to control the time a little bit.
Joker presents a sharing session about NMO: Pathways and Toastmasters Community. I am very glad that our club member could think in a broader way about Toastmasters. The content contains many valuable information not only for the new members but also for long time members.
Lanlan again takes the role of TTM. Her topic is close relationship. She gives each speaker the chance to select a name from a list of names who they think they have close relationship or want to build close relationship. Lisa and I both select Mama, and we discuss the topic after the meeting. I find it is very useful to discuss and think again about the table topics we have done so I decide to write a prepared speech for my table topics whenever it is possible. I hope this is a good to improve my writing skills.
Calin takes the role of TTE. She, like always, makes a very standard evaluation for each and every impromptu speakers using her kind smile and encouraging tone.
We again have two prepared speeches: one from Alex and one from Jason. Both are very new members. They are eager to do start their pathways, and we should lead them to read the Pathways material first.
Lisa and I are 2 IEs. We both use hamburg structure to do the evaluation.Vikki is the GE role, and she have done an excellent job and won the best evaluator role in this meeting.
Timer@Yolanda: very good time record and summary
Ah-Couter@:Carol: telling personal tips is a great way to show people how to make improvement in reducing filler words.
Grammarian@Joker: a multitask role for Joker, and he has a plan for this role.
The meeting ends late again but all the member still get together and discuss next meeting and coming contest.
As the current VPM, I am very pleased that we have 3 new members in this meeting: Adam Jing, Adam Li and Jason. Finally, the number of our club reaches 20, and we are eligible to work for the DCP.
Looking forward to our next meeting. Stay tuned.
Thanks to our photographer @Ms. Sang.
