Shanghai Yu-Life Toastmasters Club Meetings #472

It is a sunny warm morning. We have a new meeting venue for our first meeting in 2024 with our new club officer team. This a good change. I meet Sherry at the gate of our new meeting venue - the big shopping mall. It is very easy to find the place.

This new place is bigger and brighter. For me, the most significant change is that we have our own meeting room. There is very little interruption during the meeting time which make the meeting goes smoother and we should be able to make much better time control.

Our SAA@Yolanda brings a gyro to randomly find good wishes from all the people who make the circle. She turns the gyro and when it points to a person, the person should say a sentence of good wishes to all. The is a clever game to make us feel better in a new place.

Our new president@Maggie finally can officially announce the meeting opening using the gavel. She is for sure knowing more about Toastmasters and our club in these months.

Our TMD@Lisa once again takes her favorite role. She has very good stage awareness to make the attendees feel happy. Her opening introduction implies her end address. I like that she brings the silent people on the stage in the end of the meeting and ask them to say a few sentences. This encourages everyone to learn some here. Good point.

Maggie holds the Table Topics session and asks questions using the theme change. 7 people has done their impromptu speeches in 2 minutes. We all have some change experience in 2023 and we all embrace new changes in 2024.

We have three prepared speeches from three members: Alex, James and Cecilia. They are very new members, yet their performance is full of passion and boldness. Whether their English is perfect or not, their confidence sounds very loud and their ideas are impressive.

The diligent evaluation team, Vikki as GE leads the TAG team giving a remarkable evaluation of the meeting.

Timer@Sherry: very unique summary to point out the best speaker in the time control aspect which is the first time I hear someone does this..

Ah-Counter: Cesar is sunny boy with good English. His report is very accurate.

Grammarian@Grace: We all learn the phase Grace embraces space. She uses her beautiful voice to illustrate good English grammar.

The meeting is on schedule - thanks to all the meeting attendees.
